The purpose of this movie is to illustrate the increasing size of the chaotic orbits around the islands of period 5, 6 and 7 for the H\'enon conservative map. See READMEmovie1.txt for the expression of the map and its dependence on the parameter c. To see movie2 you must do 1) uncompress the data contained in datamovie2.tar.gz using linux this can be done by typing tar xvfz datamovie2.tar.gz and it creates a subdirectory datamovie2 which contains all the precomputed data. 2) start gnuplot and then type load 'movie2.gnu' The plots start to be shown. On top of the plot the current value of the parameter is shown. Press return to pass to next plot. Points in regular orbits are plotted in red, while the ones in chaotic orbits are plotted in green. As far as the parameter increases the green area does, until the invariant curves confining points in chaotic domains disappear and the gaps of the Cantor invariant sets which replace the invariant curves allow the points to escape. 3) At the end of the plot you can delete the subdirectory datamovie2 by typing rm -r -f datamovie2 Enjoy the evolution of the regular and chaotic domains!
